Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education
"Mountain streams, where water and life begin!" is the theme of this educational facility dedicated to exploring the wonders of North Carolina's wildlife.

Image Located off Highway 276 in the Pisgah National Forest, the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education is an extension of the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission. Wildlife center attractions include aquariums, an instructional video, outdoor hands-on exhibits, a garden display, special programs, viewing and feeding of hatchery trout and a N.C. WILD Store.

The wildlife center's indoor exhibit, "From the Sea to the Mountains," introduces visitors to the great diversity of wildlife and aquatic ecosystems across North Carolina. Aquariums featuring Mountain, Piedmont and Coastal species are on display.In the auditorium, every half hour from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., visitors can view a 20-minute video about the N.C. mountains. Learn about the geological history and wildlife habitats of the area, and the responsibilities of the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission.

The outdoor exhibits, along a paved walkway, introduce the habitats and wildlife of the area and the work of the Wildlife Commission. It also shows how we can all help to conserve wildlife.

Special Programs The Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education offers a number of events and programs throughout the year. You can find these events posted on this website's calendar of events.
