 Transylvania County has more than 300 miles of hiking trails leading you through canopied trails to waterfalls (of which there are more than 250 in the county) and scenic views. Cool fall weather not only nurtures the colorful splash of autumn leaves, it makes a brisk hike along these trails invigorating.More than 50% of the county is covered by by Pisgah National Forest, Dupont State Forest, and by Gorges State Park, giving you ample opportunity to enjoy the outdoors however you desire. Drop a dry-fly in the currents of the Davidson River and discover why it is rated one of the top trout streams in America.  Lace up and gear up for an exhilarating climb up the sheer rock face of the Devil’s Courthouse.
