Try these recommended Autumn routes and activities:

• Drive along the 77-mile Forest Heritage Scenic Byway , designated for its spectacular views of autumn leaves. Enjoy a picnic along the Blue Ridge Parkway before turning down Hwy. 276 South to visit the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education and the Cradle of Forestry . Heading back into Brevard, walk along the banks of the Davidson River or try your hand at fly-fishing.The Davidson River is  rated as one of the country’s best trout rivers. After a full day of activities, enjoy dinner in one of Brevard’s fine restaurants near the old courthouse.

Fall Foliage Routes

You’ll be amazed. You can follow these routes for some of the most spectacular foliage viewing, all in Transylvania County.Image
•     Up The Mountains - It’s only twenty miles, but packed with enough views to last all afternoon. US Highway 276 from Pisgah Forest, NC to the Blue Ridge Parkway - a winding road that climbs more than a thousand feet in elevation through the Pisgah National Forest.
•     Over The Mountain - Fasten your seat belt for a mountainous road ride up Cedar Mountain. An excellent spot for a picnic lunch is Connestee Falls or Raven Cliff Falls.
