The TC Arts Council will host a course on pottery wheel throwing for beginners. The class will be on Tuesday and Thursday’s from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm on October 17 – 26. “As the Crow Flies” – an invitational art exhibit with Christine Kosiba & friends

The TC Arts Council is proud to present this invitational art exhibit with well-known clay artist Christine Kosiba and her talented friends. This exhibit, “As the Crow Flies” will focus on pottery, wood and paintings. The exhibit will run from September 22 – October 20. The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception on Friday, September 22 during Brevard’s 4th Friday Gallery Walk. The TC Arts Gallery is open Monday – Friday from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm. Waterfalls ‘n Wine @ Pisgah National Forest

With over 250 waterfalls within Transylvania County, it’s no wonder that you don’t know where to start looking for them! We’ll guide you to five of the most beautiful of the bunch, leaving room for some education on the unique history of Pisgah National Forest and maybe a little flora and fauna ID. We’ll end the trip in beautiful downtown Brevard with a wine tasting at Broad Street Wines. Make the most of your trip to the NC Mountains! Hiking up to one mile and pre-registration are required for this tour. Bring a sack lunch and rain gear. Please call 828-884-3443 for more information.

Brewery Tours with Pura Vida

The tours will consist of visits to the Oskar Blues BreweryBrevard Brewing Company, and Ecusta Brewing.
Tours will start with participants being picked up from their Brevard accommodations and brought to Oskar Blues Brewery, where they can grab a flight or have a pint from Oskar Blues, while getting a formal tour of the brewery and the brewing process .
The second stop will be Brevard Brewing Company, located in downtown Brevard.  Here participants will have an opportunity to see and hear about what makes Brevard Brewing Company unique, while enjoying a pint on us.
The final stop on the tour is Ecusta Brewery located at the gates of Pisgah National Forest.  Feel free to grab a flight or pint from Ecusta while we talk a little about Ecusta brewery and the history of the Pisgah National Forest.
The tour will end with participants being provided with a ride back to their local accommodations.
Trips include tours of the breweries, a pint on us at Brevard Brewery, and transportation. Pints and Flights can be purchased separately while at the bar or tasting rooms.  Cost is $40 a person. Need a place to practice your pottery skills? The Transylvania Community Arts Council has space on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for potters to come in and work on hand building and wheel throwing. The open studio time is 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Class dates are: October 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26. Cost for 8 classes is $150 + clay. Single classes are $25 each + clay.
